Bad Company

Watching:  Illinois vs. Minnesota mens basketball

Jean-Paul Sartre once said, "If you are lonely when you're alone, you are in bad company."  This quote does not relate directly to what I am about to discuss but it does on some level and it is always useful to think about.   Over the past few weeks I have been making myself out to be a terrible person.  I have been viewing myself as a 20 year old, unemployed, single, student attending a city college who wants to work in the music industry but has no current connections with it all.  I have also been obsessing over my slow but sure weight gain because of enduring no physical activity in 3 months.  In the shower this morning I came up with an extremely simple idea that could be the solution to my self loathing.  By the way, maybe this is just me but I always do my best thinking in the shower.  It makes sense because there is nothing else that can distract you from your thoughts while bathing.  It's basically a great form of meditation if you were to define it.  Anyways, back to the self loathing.  So this simple idea of mine was to create a list of every-day tasks and or goals.  I came up with 6 items.  I will suffocate myself with this list.  I will put it on my door, on the refrigerator, on my desktop, in my car, etc. until I have established these items.  I'm hopeful of this experiment and that by the end of it I will be in good company once again.  Self love is the most important kind.  So love yourself.
