Cram Session

So it's been a while since I've wrote on here.  I'll try to catch you up.  A LOT has happened so I don't really know where to begin.  I guess I'll start by announcing that I am officially 21!  I didn't do anything too crazy which I know might be a surprise to some of you.  I spent my birthday weekend going to a ball game, Laguna Beach drinking games, and a couple parties.  I still haven't hit the bars yet but maybe that will be coming soon.

I have made several new friends lately.  One of which I am particularly fond of.  I'm having a lot of fun with her.

I just got my own place in Denver!  I move in on Saturday.  I'm really excited about it.  I just need to start getting stuff for it!  I just bought a new skateboard to help me get around town.

Onto a more serious matter, I am still in complete shock and denial from what happened last night.  At the end of dinner with the family, my parents told my brother and I that we needed to talk about something.  I wasn't expecting the news to be nearly as serious as it was about to be.  My parents told us that they are getting a divorce.  Most of the time you would think that one would be able to see this sort of thing coming but, it took me by complete surprise.  I've always thought that if they had been together for this long, that they would be in it for the long haul.  I still don't really know what to think of all of this.  It hasn't quite stuck in my mind yet.  I'm just glad that I have so many great friends and relatives to help me get through this.  I'd like to think it's not going to be that rough on me but to view my parents as a single unit for 21 years and to all of a sudden see them break apart is going to take some time to get used to.

Music:   -I just bought the Cool Kids album.  SO good.  Old school hip-hop at it's finest.
-I also recently bought the new My Morning Jacket album, Evil Urges.  This is really good to.  Although different from their previous albums, it still seems like sort of a natural progression somehow.

Movies:  Grace is Gone-  John Cusack give an incredible performance as always.  This is one of the more heartbreaking movies I have ever seen.
