The Sun is Shining on My Face Today

Listening to: She & Him, Lydia

Hey y'all.  Just felt like saying that.  First I would like to give a little review of a nice little album I picked up that goes by the name of She & Him: Volume 1.  All but three of the songs are written by Zooey Deschanel who is just absolutely lovely in every way.  The album was produced by the already established singer/songwriter M. Ward who also performs on all of the tracks.  Jason Schwartzmen even helps out with the song "Sweet Darlin'."  At least in my community of friends and colleagues, there has been an enormous hype around this album and collaboration of Ward and Deschanel.  I hate when people agree to something just for the sake of hype.  Thus, I tend to be more critical on such items.  Even with this being said, She & Him is completely wonderful.  There was a smile on my face within the first fifteen seconds of playtime.  The music is very generic but is a perfect fit for Deschanel's vocals.  Zooey carries the entire album.  She is a true talent.  She & Him is a diamond in the pile of the typical crap you will find in the new release section of your record store.  I might even go as far to say it is a ray of hope for the music industry.  No matter your taste, this album should be appreciated by all music lovers.

Anyways, more on the CA vs. CO situation.  I was trying to think about what I would be losing by leaving So Cal and what I would be re-gaining by going back to CO.

So Cal:   MY FRIENDS! : (
The Beach
2nd Street
Yogurtland
Long Beach parties
Cultural diversity
Vegan resteraunts

CO:   The mountains
My family
The seasons
Living/going to school downtown
Reading on the train
16th street
Free Rockies/Avs games
Playing college hockey(inline)
Playing pro hockey(inline)

From this list it seems like  So Cal is still AMAZING but maybe it would just better to visit on occasion when I need to get away where as Colorado might be a better place to live.

I have been looking at listings in Denver for the Central City, Ballpark, and LoDo areas.  I guess I also wouldn't mind living in the Platte area.  I could also settle for living outside Denver but the burbs are so boring and stereotypical.  I like being in unique cultures and downtown or the mountain towns are the only places in CO to get that.  Has anyone ever lived in or know anybody who has lived in the Premier lofts on Market in the Ballpark district?  They look absolutely stunning to me.  I am just wondering if there is anything I should know.

It has been a beautiful sunny day in Long Beach.  I strolled through 2nd street after class to get my Jamba Juice and Fingerprints on.

OH and One Tree Hill tonight!  Tonight's episode is probably going to place in the top ten moments of my life.  Lucas & Peyton getting together after the State Championship game is already like # 5.  My life is a fucking joke.
