Change is Hard

Today in my film class we watched Gandhi.  I had already seen it once before  a few years back but it was nice to view it again.  Watching the film made me think a lot about internal strength.  I began to think a lot about Gandhi and Martin Luther King Jr.  I find it ironic how perhaps the two biggest advocates for civil rights and piece to ever live, were assassinated.  I can't even imagine what they went through.  I start to tear up every time I think about the courage it took for those men to make those epic changes in society.  To devote your life to the succession of the world you live in is truly remarkable.  That no longer exists in todays society and it doesn't seem like it ever will again.  But wouldn't it be great?  Wouldn't it be great to see Al Gore and other Global Warming advocates throw it all on the line to save future generations?
